A Pre-Wedding Celebration in Hue: A Taste of Tradition and Serenity

On the 17th of January 2025, the day before our wedding, we invite you to join us for a special pre-wedding celebration in the heart of Hue. Beginning at 12:00 PM, this intimate gathering will bring together the charm of the Vietnamese countryside, Hue’s culinary heritage, and cultural performances in a picturesque private garden setting.

Countryside Cuisine in a Garden Setting

Our celebration starts with an authentic Hue-style garden feast, inspired by the concept of “Ẩm Thực Làng Quê” (Countryside Cuisine). The food will be served from gánh hàng rong—traditional street vendor carts—recreating the vibrant atmosphere of a local fair. Guests can enjoy an array of Hue specialties, from delicate bánh bèo (steamed rice cakes) to flavorful bún bò Huế (spicy beef noodle soup), all prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Dress Code: Traditional Attire for a Cultural Experience

We encourage our guests to embrace the cultural essence of the day by wearing traditional Vietnamese attire. You can choose to wear the elegant áo dài, a symbol of grace and heritage, or Việt phục, which encompasses a variety of traditional Vietnamese garments. Wearing these beautiful outfits will allow you to immerse yourself even more deeply in the atmosphere of the event, adding a touch of authenticity to this special day.

A Dragon Boat Show to Conclude the Day

As the afternoon unfolds, we will take to the Perfume River for a mesmerizing dragon boat cruise. This traditional boat will carry us along the gentle waters, where we will be treated to Hue’s iconic music and dance performances. Known as ca múa Huế, these performances combine graceful movements and soft melodies, perfectly reflecting the elegance and artistry of Hue’s cultural heritage. It’s the perfect way to end a magical day of celebration, surrounded by the beauty and history of this ancient city.

The Huế Dragon Boat Festival, or "Lễ Hội Thuyền Rồng," is one of the city's most exciting and culturally rich traditions. Held along the iconic Perfume River, the festival features elaborately decorated dragon boats, symbolizing power and majesty, competing in thrilling races. The colorful spectacle is enhanced by traditional music and cheering crowds lining the riverbanks. Beyond the boat races, the festival is a celebration of Hue’s heritage, with performances of royal court music, displays of calligraphy, and traditional Vietnamese games. As the sun sets, lanterns illuminate the river, creating a magical atmosphere that showcases both the elegance of the city and the strength of its people.
